Job Description:

Our client, a real estate private equity firm requires a Senior Property Accountant to join their team. The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for full cycle accounting including preparing, analyzing, and delivering complete financial reports for a portfolio of properties.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for all accounting transactions associated in the preparation of financial statement packages
  • Completing the year end close with detailed variance analysis and cash flow
  • Carry out the monthly entries, GST returns, and bank reconciliations
  • Achieve the Common Area Maintenance (CAM) and tax recovery with invoices
  • Budget and reforecast of revenue, non/recoverable costs with cash flow
  • Prepare and update cash flow projections
  • Preparing, analyzing and delivering complete financial reports quarterly with general ledger reconciliation/schedules
  • Full accounting transactions in preparation of CAM & Tax recovery accruals quarterly
  • Setting up new tenants update charges and correct lease terms as required
  • GAAP and IFRS compliance and other analysis required by management
  • Complete property accounting tasks for investors / sub investors
  • Coordinate / assist with recording pre-authorized payments
  • Prepare / assist with charge backs and invoices
  • Coordinate / assist with a/p and prepare cheque payments

  • Property Management experience with retail and industrial
  • University degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline
  • Professional Accounting Designation – CA, CGA, CMA, or CPA preferred
  • Possesses a minimum of 3+ years accounting experience
  • Proven experience with property accounting ideal
  • Proficiency with accounting software as well as Microsoft Office, with intermediate or greater skills using Excel
  • Knowledge of taxation
  • Exposure to Yardi Voyager is an asset
