Job Description:

Our client, a real estate company specializing in shopping center development located in Markham requires a Records Management Assistant to join their team. This role  provides support for Records Management program, including training, troubleshooting and problem solving, archiving, vendor management, program review, and program improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Training and ongoing support for internal clients on DocuShare and RM functions
  • Promotion and enforcement of RM principles and activities in business process improvements
  • Management of archive process including packing, indexing, archiving, retrieval, and refile of archived records
  • Approval, management, and audit of RM vendors including offsite storage provider and on‐site shred service
  • Review and audit of existing RM program with recommendations for improvements to the Records Manager
  • Complete RM projects and other duties as assigned
  • Lift between 25 and 30 pounds daily, ensuring that all activities are completed safely and efficiently

Qualifications:

  • Strong written communication skills to produce reports and training/information materials; interpersonal and communication skills to clarify, exchange information and explain difficult concepts simply to internal and external clients Ability to make presentations and conduct training sessions; strong listening and synthesis skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with all standard file formats
  • Ability to research information, review vendor documentation, evaluate software, and make recommendations
  • Ability to learn new materials and technology without instruction; ability to work independently
  • Respect for confidentiality of all company‐wide information and records
  • Knowledge & experience using standard photocopiers and document scanner
  • Completion of undergraduate degree in Records Management, Library Science, Information Management, or equivalent degree preferred
  • Records Management work experience helpful, but not required
  • General business and office experience preferred
  • Current students (graduating in 2020 and available to work normal day‐time hours) will be considered
  • Other related degrees accepted with relevant work experience
