Property Management Leader

Job Description:

Our client, a real estate development company with a mixed portfolio requires a Property Management Leader to join their team. This role will lead the development and execution of the company’s property management operating strategies, plans and processes; oversight of day-to-day property management activities to secure and enhance the integrity of the company’s captive portfolio of multi-unit residential and commercial/industrial properties.


  • Ensure overall delivery of consistent, efficient, and highly effective leasing and property management services for captive property portfolio
  • Regular updating of leadership on current status of the business (e.g., maintenance status, financials, occupancy, trade performance)
  • Overall management of tenant relationships (e.g., tenant offer acceptance recommendations, rent collection, evictions)
  • Develop and implement plans and make recommendations for ongoing and preventative maintenance
  • Oversee and participate in procurement and management of trades and other service providers for ongoing maintenance and leasehold/capital improvement projects
  • Management and development of all maintenance and property management staff including identifying staffing needs and conducting recruitment, goal setting and performance management and coaching and development
  • Identify and manage routine and special projects targeted to improve overall business performance (e.g., rent validation system, account receivables monitoring, building condition assessments, IT infrastructure review/upgrading)
  • Provide input and support for evaluation of investment opportunities to expand the real estate portfolio
  • Contribute to refinement and evolution of business strategy


  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in property management
  • 10 or more years of experience in the property management sector
  • Experience in the application of technology to the property management business and proficiency in typical office oriented software applications (e.g. Office 365)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify trends and opportunities to continuously improve the business
  • Strong people leadership skills
