Job Description:

Our client, a asset management and development company of commercial properties is seeking a Manager of Acquisitions to join their team. This role will report into the EVP and will be responsible for building the firms mixed-use portfolio.


  • Identified and source prospective sites for acquisition via direct owner, broker and strategic market relationships
  • Acquisition targets ranged from greenfield to urban infill and assembly for retail, mixed use and residential
  • In collaboration with analysts, provide analysis of potential sites to determine whether opportunities met the company’s investment
  • Negotiated terms with sellers and obtained internal approvals
  • Direct and liaise with professional consultants and advisors (planners, engineers, architects, contractors etc.) to ensure development integrity is met
  • Manage and interpret various reports including, environmental and geotechnical studies
  • Manage the elaboration of the design concept, site and building plans
  • Work with the VP, Development to manage the entitlement process and obtain all necessary approvals
  • Work with the VP, Construction to identify problems and refine plans accordingly
  • Work with in‐house and external legal advisors on the review, preparation and modification of documents
  • Prepare submissions and present deals for senior management and investment committee approvals
  • Source equity partners and negotiate partnership agreements


  • 10+ years of experience in the commercial real estate space
  • Solid understanding of the deal process
  • Experience with mixed use an asset
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Advance Excel skills
  • Experience working in and fostering relationships in the GTA and outside markets
