Job Description:

Our client, a law firm located in North York is seeking a Junior Legal Assistant/Law Clerk to join their team. This position is an entry-level position and requires at least one year of work experience. You will be reporting to lawyers, law clerks, and other professional staff.


  • General administrative duties, including but not limited to scanning, filing, printing, data entry, photocopying, performing administrative duties with respect to opening and closing files, etc.
  • Maintaining workflow of occupancy closings for various projects at the same time
  • Liaising with other team members to coordinate workload
  • Reviewing and screening incoming calls, mail and fax communications
  • Preparing and editing emails, correspondence, reporting letters, invoicing and other documentation
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 1-3 years related work experience an asset
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Paralegal, Law Clerk or Legal Assistant
  • Experience working in real estate industry a strong asset
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong proof-reading skills, and a desire to provide high quality, accurate work product
  • Superior time-management
  • Excellent judgement and the ability to exercise discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Requirement to work both independently and as part of a team and excel in both situations
  • Takes initiative and seeks out opportunities to support team members
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral to liaise with lawyers, clients and other staff members
  • Client service focused and results oriented
  • Friendly attitude and willingness to learn new things
  • Flexibility to occasionally work overtime
