Job Description:

Our client, a value-oriented investment counseling firm located in Toronto requires an Investment Operations Analyst to join their team. The company manages assets on behalf of institutional and high-net-worth clients across the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Client Servicing Team and support them in responding to client inquiries
  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, year-end taxes and ad-hoc reporting packages for high-net worth clients
  • Receive client cash flow instructions from Client Servicing and communicate trading instructions to Traders and the Pooled Fund desk
  • Prepare trade orders related to asset class rebalancing and bulk trades in accordance with a client’s investment
    policy mix and deliver this to Portfolio Managers for approval
  • Set-up of client investment policies and investment models in internal Portfolio Management System
  • Identify potential account restrictions and work with the Compliance Team to create compliance rules in the
    Portfolio Management System
  • Maintain a detailed working knowledge of client investment policies
  • Ongoing review of workflow processes and work with peers to enhance, and document all enhancements in a written procedure
  • From an operational perspective, on-board new clients, and transition closing accounts
  • Provide back-up coverage for other members of the Client Operations Team

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of client servicing experience, working for an investment management firm or a financial institution, and will have worked with high-net-worth clients
  • Relevant post-secondary education
  • Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds Institute of Canada course
  • Knowledge of registered plans (RRSPs, TFSAs, RRIF, LIFs, RESPs etc.)
  • Experience with portfolio management systems
  • Working knowledge of equity and fixed income products
  • Excel experience (macros, lookups, etc.) is beneficial
  • Team player; able to work with colleagues in Client Servicing, Compliance, Trading, and other departments
