Job Description:

Our client, a private lender and commercial real estate mortgage banker is seeking a Commercial Mortgage Renewal Officer to join their team. This role will report to the Chief Investment Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing maturities for an active commercial mortgage portfolio of over
  • 200 loans and maintaining a professional working relationship with borrowers, brokers, originators and lending partners.
  • The successful candidate must be proactive in reviewing each loan that is maturing and coordinate with all stakeholders to determine the terms of mortgage renewals.
  • Work with account originators and maintain the mortgage maturity tracking report with a detailed account of all communications with borrowers and brokers.
  • Respond to all renewal enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare loan renewal documentation for borrowers and ensure that all fees and conditions precedent items are received.
  • Review all conditions precedent (i.e., appraisals, financial statements, rent rolls, operating
  • statements, net worth statements, etc.) and identify any concerns that need to be addressed.
  • Coordinate with the mortgage servicing department to confirm that all changes to the loan
  • terms are properly documented in the mortgage administration software.
  • Work with lending partners to determine approach for each renewal and provide loan documentation required for their review.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly maturity schedules for management reporting.
  • Track anticipated loan repayments and coordinate with finance department for cash forecasting purposes.
  • Ensure that loans continue to meet all Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years relevant experience in commercial mortgage renewals or servicing.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under time pressure.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a timely manner with borrowers, brokers, senior management and lending partners.
