Job Description:

Our client, a financial services company located in North York requires a Corporate Communications Writer to join their team on a six month temporary basis. This role writes key communications, juggles multiple priorities & is able to simplify complex pension and financial information.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of strategic communications content and materials including: financial reporting, corporate and funding communications. This includes the Annual Report, support of the Responsible Investing Report, and other company publications.
  • Create and update funding and corporate content for channels including the corporate website
  • Support communications and responses for inbound member inquiries in partnership with member communications, and assist with issues management
  • Support cross-pension plan communications committee supporting a program focused on climate, diversity and inclusion and infrastructure
  • Other writing assignments as required, which may include briefing notes, speeches, and presentations, including related to the annual reporting and the annual general meeting
  • Partnership with members of the corporate and member communications teams and third-party vendors to deliver projects on-time and on-budget

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in pension industry, expertise in financial services industry, background in corporate communications and/or journalism
  • Microsoft programs – word, outlook, some PowerPoint (no serious design)
  • Good under pressure, can juggle tight deadlines/occasional evening and weekend work when on deadline, enjoys working with complex information, collaborative and can work as a good partner across the business and within the communications team
