Job Description:

Our client, a large full-service agency located downtown requires a Digital Media Planner to join their growing, smart, creative group of media professionals. No silos, all collaboration. The company services clients in both Canada and the US and have clients in various categories such as beverage alcohol, CPG, pharma, retail, sports, QSR, and more. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience within a media planning/buying role and will be working as part of an integrated hands on team. This position has a strong focus on digital but may also take on responsibilities related to a 360-planning role.


  • Work collaboratively with all internal agency teams including accounts, creative, social, and PR
  • Initiate and execute the complete media planning and buying process with support and direction from the Media Supervisor; including the development of media strategy, detailed blocking charts, POVs, ad spec documents and post campaign analysis
  • Play a large role within paid social media/search; including developing social media strategy, set up ads in Facebook Business Manager and analyze and compile post reporting
  • Facilitate the trafficking process with third party vendors and internal programmatic/ad ops team
  • Keep up with latest media and cultural trends, advertising opportunities and specs
  • Monitor media plan execution, including set up and optimization for digital, including social and search
  • Completion of competitive, audience and general industry related research
  • Set up and manage media BCR, process vendor invoices, working with finance team to ensure payment
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in all documents – budget control reports, blocking charts, digital reporting metrics etc.


  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in media, with experience in digital, including paid social/search
  • Experience with reporting, measurement and campaign optimization
  • Experience setting up and managing campaigns within digital platforms (Facebook and Google preferred)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Highly developed organizational skills with a strong focus on attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and deliver on multiple demands within challenging deadlines
  • Keen to solve problems, bring a unique perspective and provide innovative ideas
  • Experiencing with budget management, including budget control reports, and vendor invoicing
  • High degree of excellence in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel
