Job Description:

Our client, a commercial real estate development company is seeking a high energy Investment & Asset Management Analyst to join their growing team of skilled real estate professionals. The Investment & Asset Management Analyst will be responsible for screening real estate investment opportunities across the country, evaluating and underwriting potential investments, coordinating and performing due diligence, and advising senior management on investment decisions. The individual will also be responsible for conducting market research and supporting the team in the many different roles we are responsible for. The position requires someone who will thrive in a fast‐pace and entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with acquisition, disposition and development underwriting and due diligence for commercial and residential properties
  • Prepare financial models and scenario analysis in both Argus and Excel to project cash flows, investment returns and the viability of acquisitions and development projects
  • Building and verifying waterfalls to determine the timing and amount of profit distribution available to partners
  • Assist and prepare packages for the Investment Committee
  • Prepare financing packages for lenders
  • Review, summarize and incorporate third party analysis (i.e. engineering, cost consultants, geotechnical reports etc.)
  • Perform in‐depth industry, market and competitor research to support the investment review process
  • Prepare comprehensive underwriting packages
  • Research and maintain a database of commercial property transactions and activity, including sales and leasing
  • Develop strong business relationships with peers in the industry
  • Update Argus and Excel models quarterly as part of the asset management submissions
  • Ad‐hoc reporting as required

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree with preference given to candidates with a graduate degree
  • 3+ years of real estate investments/ development experience
  • A good understanding of real estate fundamentals (retail, office, industrial and residential)
  • Proven exceptional analytical skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is critical
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (in particular Microsoft Excel); proficient with Argus Enterprise software
  • Ability and desire to work in a growing midsized entrepreneurial environment
  • Exceptional presentation skills with experience presenting to executive leadership
