Job Description:

Our client, a boutique private equity firm located in Yorkville requires an Administrative and Accounting Assistant to join their team. This is a family owned and operated company specializes primarily in providing financial, strategic and operational expertise to the healthcare, real estate and financial industries. The Accounting Assistant will report to the Chief Financial Officer.


  • Download daily bank transactions
  • Sort invoices and enter details into accounting software
  • Issue cheques, get authorized signatures and mail or courier
  • Online banking payments and/or transfers
  • Perform daily deposits and prepare deposit report
  • Prepare mid-month and month-end bank reconciliations
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support including banking, data entry, mailing, filing, collating, faxing, scan documents and copying
  • Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately
  • Answer, screen and forward any incoming phone calls while providing basic information on an as needed basis
  • Open, sort and distribute daily mail and deliveries
  • Arrange for catering and culinary requests for various on-site meetings as required
  • Empty dishwasher and ensure kitchen are in good working order
    Daily tea/coffee/ lunch pick up
    Act as President’s Executive Assistant when on vacation or sick
    Aside from the above primary job duties, other tasks, consistent with the general scope of this position, will be assigned as required


  • Previous role in accounting is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of accounting software is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional personal presentation
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
