Job Description:

Our client, a boutique investment management company downtown requires a Portfolio Administrator to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary support for two relationship managers
  • Familiar with affairs of assigned clients (~160 clients)
  • Respond to & deal with client inquiries: RRSP contributions & TFSA room, deposits & withdrawals, reporting, tax documents and processing/managing client transactions
  • Prepare new client & account opening documentation
  • Prepare for client meetings: agendas, presentations, forms & documents
  • Maintain CRM for assigned clients
  • Assemble material for client mailings (quarter end, ad hoc)
  • Supporting the Financial Planning process
  • Coordinate work with other Portfolio Administrators; providing support due to absences as needed
  • Provide backup support to other portfolio administrators when they are absent
  • Process trades and facilitate corresponding entries within portfolio management system
  • Participate equally in the rotation among portfolio administrators of various daily/weekly/bi- weekly shared duties

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with initiative to meet and beat deadlines
  • Friendly, with strong ability to develop professional relationships with clients
  • Above average degree of computer literacy & proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Organized & detail-oriented
  • Works well in team & quick to offer help
  • Flexible, eager to learn and punctual
  • Exposure to any planning software is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of Toogood Portfolio Management System is considered an asset
  • Minimum five years’ experience related experience
  • Portfolio management system experience
  • Client relationship management system experience
